clearing engine

Purging the combustion chambers of unburned fuel by rotating the engine with the starter. The airflow caused by the compressor carries off accumulated fuel vapors and vaporizes the liquid fuel present in the engine. In the air, a reciprocating engine that has been idling for some time is cleared by opening the throttle fully for a short period of time to ensure that carbon deposited on spark plugs is cleared.
